Virtual APS Session on Biology and Physics Education

March 5, 2020 from 1:30pm - 4:00pm Eastern Time
APS Virtual March Meeting 2020

Since the American Physical Society March meeting has been canceled, an exciting session organized by Phil Nelson and organized by Living Physics Portal seed contributor Catherine Crouch will now be offered virtually.

The invited conference session (B18 in the online APS epitome) on "Bringing together biology, medicine, and physics in education" will be happening virtually on Thursday, March 5, 1:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. EST! This session was originally co-organized by Phil Nelson and Catherine Crouch, jointly between DBIO and FEd. Many thanks to Phil for arranging the virtual session!

Speakers in the session include Brad Roth, Alison Sweeney, Laurie McNeil, Justin Bois, and Michelle Smith (representing the biology education perspective to physicists). The session program (with abstracts and times for the Thursday virtual session) can be found here.

This session will be offered through Zoom (can be downloaded for free by attendees). Join URL.

Attendees should review the virtual meeting guidelines beginning on the second page of this Google Doc before connecting.

We invite you to attend and share this with interested colleagues!

Thanks again very much to Phil Nelson and Catherine Crouch for making this happen! I hope that you all can spread the word. This will be an interesting trial in terms of presenting conference sessions through a virtual medium. Maybe the start of things to come...
