Highlights: A complete set of 1 semester long E&M labs with full supplements, equipment list, training notes and more.
Abstract: We present a complete set of laboratory activities for an introductory Electricity and Magnetism physics course for life science majors. This course is taught to a large cohort (currently ~800 students) at the University of Virginia. On the pedagogical side, the course is designed to address the issues typical to life science majors such as a low level of math preparation and difficulty finding relatable material. On the administrative side, the course addresses the issue of a heavy grading load in large courses and presents a complete set of assignments that are graded automatically by a computer yet personalized to students’ data.
Resource Types: In-class activity, Lab, Pre-class assignment, Instructor supplement, Project
