Highlights: A collection of 39 estimation problems appropriate for use on midsemester exams and finals and a rubric for grading them.

Abstract: Advice for giving estimation problems on exams, including a possible rubric. A collection of exam problems is appropriate for use in exams. They have all been tested in actual classes and students have been successful (60% class average or higher) assuming they take 10-15 minutes of effort. The collection includes both problems that draw on students' everyday experience and that provide rich and relevant biological contexts.
