Refining the Model Potential Between Two Parallel Plates
Vetted
Highlights: A macroscopic investigation on equipotential lines using glass plates, water, and metal bars.
Abstract: This is the 2nd of a 2-Investigation sequence exploring and formalizing concepts of electric potential and leading into the start of electric fields. This lab is designed to follow "Investigating a Model of Electric Interactions in Living Systems" and is intended to focus student attention on the plates and making a posit about what is *creating* electric potential differences. This investigation should results in a set of observations, rules, and questions to the class in a whiteboard meeting. This lab is also used to develop the representation of equipotential lines.
