Provides the basic physics of the critical biological phenomenon of diffusion and random motion.
Abstract:
This unit includes an instructional "module" on random motion and diffusion. While the physics associated with these concepts are not covered in traditional introductory physics classes, they are of great importance in biology and chemistry, especially in cellular and sub-cellular biology and in biochemistry. We have therefore chosen to include a significant treatment of the physics underlying these phenomena in NEXUS/Physics.
