Two lab sequence exploring electric potential from the microscopic to macroscopic
Abstract:
This is a 2-lab sequence exploring and formalizing concepts of electric potential from an energy perspective without electric fields. Following a Modeling Instruction design, this lab is intended to be placed at the start of the unit so that students can experiment, make observations, and create rules based on their data. This lab should result in whiteboards where students share their group's observations, rules, and questions to the class. During this board meeting concepts are formalized through consensus.
