Highlights: student-centered module with experiments, tutorials and questions on vision and corrective lenses
Abstract: In this module students are guided through a series of questions and experiments to understand the eye’s near and far points, myopia and hyperopia, the use of corrective lenses, accommodation, and the refractive power of lenses. Using a few lenses they observe how the refractive power of the eye must change when the distance to the object changes, and the magnitude and sign of the refractive power of the lens that must be added to correct near- or far-sightedness. They then use those concepts to answer questions about presbyopia (age-related loss of accommodation).and keratotomy.
