Dimensional analysis - Classroom Activities
Vetted
Highlights: Two extended groupwork activities that can help students get a handle on dimensional analysis.
Abstract: These groupwork activities have students work through a moderately complex problem in dimensional analysis relevant to biologists: the Hagen-Poissuille equation describing viscous fluid flow and the Debye screening of a charge in an ionic fluid. Both are highly scaffolded without being algorithmic. They are appropriate either for a recitation or a large lecture class with groupwork structures available.
Resource Types: In-class activity, Homework, Restricted access
Remote Learning Ready: This resource has been designed or adapted for use in remote learning.
