Highlights: Connect exponential equation to cooling and understand the one-third life
Abstract: This resource focuses on the exponential function to help students connect this functions to meaning, and not see the function merely as a way to get a number. By looking at the function as related to the simple phenomena of cooling, they begin to see the story that the function is telling. The exponential function comes into play in biology in reaction rates, metabolic rates, cooling, filtration rates, and RC circuits, which are used to model nerve signal propagation.
