Part 2 of 4
Highlights: Connect exponential equation to cooling, chemical reactions, metabolic rates and filtration rates
Abstract: This resource focuses on the exponential function to help students connect this functions to meaning, and not see the function merely as a way to get a number. By looking at the same function in many different ways and in different representations, they begin to see the story that the function is telling. The exponential function comes into play in biology in reaction rates, metabolic rates, cooling, filtration rates, and RC circuits, which are used to model nerve signal propagation. This resources has two labs, one lecture, and several problems (some just mathematical and others connecting to biology).
