Highlights: An extended groupwork activity on the HP equation that can help students get a handle on dimensional analysis.

Abstract: This groupwork activity has students work through a moderately complex problem in dimensional analysis relevant to biologists: the Hagen-Poissuille equation describing viscous fluid flow. The lesson is highly scaffolded without being algorithmic. Appropriate either for a recitation or a large lecture class with groupwork structures available.
