Highlights: Provides the basic physics of the critical biological phenomenon of diffusion and random motion.
Abstract: This unit includes an instructional "module" on random motion and diffusion. While the physics associated with these concepts are not covered in traditional introductory physics classes, these topics are of great importance in biology and chemistry, especially in cellular and subcellular biology and in biochemistry. For this reason, we have chosen to include a significant consideration of the physics underlying these phenomena in NEXUS/Physics.
Resource Types: Instructor supplement, Student reading, Lecture materials, In-class activity, Clicker question, Lab, Demonstration, Video, Pre-class assignment, Homework, Exam problem
