Life Sciences Focus

I especially focus on physical fitness and human performance (all students have bodies and some are interested in endurance sports), in addition to medicine, dentistry, and physical therapy.

Education Research and Pedagogy Expertise

I start my course design with best-practice recommendations from PER and colleagues (such as the AAPT Committee on Laboratories guidelines).

Describe the courses that you teach for life sciences students

I have taught the IPLS lab for 9 years and sometimes teach the lecture as well.

What is your approach to teaching physics for life science students?

In the IPLS course, I find that the more I work in applications relevant to my students personal and professional interests, the greater proportion of contented class participants I have.
