Highlights: Introduction of friction in human movement - worksheet scenarios of 1D motion with friction
Abstract: After exploring 1D vertical forces and motion in the previous submodule, the student moves on, in this submodule, to 2D forces, but motion is still 1D. Friction related to humans moving objects and moving themselves is introduced. The role of friction is expanded to 2D motion in the "2D Motion with 2D Forces" submodule, which follows. (Overview of "Biomechanics Motion and Forces" module shows how things fit together.) Human motion or human-caused motion is the focus. Students have to determine in which motion segments friction has to occur and in which direction. Force diagrams now include friction.
