Highlights: Introductory 1D Motion and Forces in the Biomechanical context of 1D vertical human movement
Abstract: This submodule introduces kinematics and Newton's Laws in the context of human movement and humans moving objects. See the overview of Biomechanics - Motion and Forces module, to see how this submodule fits in. The 1D Motion submodule may precede this one. In this submodule, 1D forces are integrated with 1D motion, limited to vertical. Friction will be introduced in the following submodule (1D Motion w/ 2D Forces). This submodule includes activities in which students predict and interpret their own body data. They model the human body as a point object and model movements as sequences of simple motion and forces segments.
Resource Types: In-class activity, Lab, Pre-class assignment, Instructor supplement, Homework, Exam problem
